A Night of Fun at a Trunk or Treat

By Joanna, Macaroni Kid Downey Publisher October 25, 2024

We had a blast at a “Trunk or Treat” event at a School in Downey and it was such a fun way to kick off Halloween! The school’s parking lot was transformed into a Halloween wonderland, with parents and teachers decorating their car trunks in wildly creative themes. There was a Jurassic Park themed trunk which was really fun to see, there was a trunk that looked like a pirate ship, there was a Beetle Juice theme and a few had classic Halloween characters like witches and ghosts and Dia De Los Muertos (Day of the Dead) theme.

One trunk did a Coco-inspired trunk paid tribute to the beloved movie with vibrant decorations and music from the film. This Coco setup truly stood out, reminding everyone of the importance of family and heritage.

The kids had the best time going from trunk to trunk, filling up their treat bags and admiring the decorations. Each station had candy, of course, but a few cars went the extra mile, offering small toys or Halloween-themed goodies, which was a nice surprise.

The school did an amazing job bringing the community together, and it was heartwarming to see everyone, young and old, come out to celebrate. The Trunk or Treat event was a perfect way to keep Halloween traditions alive in a safe, welcoming space—definitely a night to remember!
