Here’s a simple, family-friendly fall craft idea for October: Leaf Rubbing Art!
This classic autumn craft is easy, fun, and perfect for kids of all ages. It allows your family to explore nature while creating beautiful, colorful art.
What You’ll Need:
•Different types of leaves (gathered from outside)
•White paper
•Crayons (with the paper wrapping removed)
•A flat surface to work on
Instructions:
1. Gather Leaves
Head outside with the kids and collect a variety of fallen leaves in different shapes and sizes.
2. Prepare the Leaves
Make sure your leaves are flat and not too dry or crinkly. Gently press them if needed.
3. Place the Leaves
Lay a leaf flat on the table with the textured side facing up.
4. Cover with Paper
Place a sheet of white paper over the leaf.
5. Rub with Crayons
Using the side of a crayon, gently rub over the paper where the leaf is underneath. As you rub, the texture of the leaf will appear on the paper, revealing its veins and shape.
6. Get Creative
Repeat with different leaves and colors. You can overlap leaf rubbings or create individual pieces of art. Frame them or hang them up as fall decor!
Happy crafting!
